Her Story

"I have always been a creative and expressive person. As a kid I was loud and always moving. My parents put me in dance and gymnastics to help me use my undying energy. These didn't stick because for little Ryan there was "too much structure". I didn't want to learn a dance routine, I just wanted someone to play music and let me dance until I couldn't anymore. My parents then found an acting class for kids at my day care and I've participated in acting classes and school theatre productions ever since. My love of theatre is undying and grows more and more each day.

I decided to pursue theatre while in secondary school. I had been taking theatre and singing classes in my free time and then immediately joined the theatre department at my secondary school. It was an amazing experience and while performing as an orphan in Annie I realised: "I want to do this for the rest of my life." I started my journey at St. Lawrence College where I completed a 3 year College Diploma course. Over the three years I was able to grow as a performer and hone my singing, dancing and acting abilities. While singing may always remain my favourite of the disciplines, my love of dance and confidence in my acting ability blossomed during the 3-year program. While at SLC, I was lucky enough to be a part of many productions and performances.  I also had the extreme pleasure of being Co-Stage Manager for The Midway Dive, a brand new musical created, produced and performed by my 3rd-year class.

After graduating, I took a leap of faith and moved to Sligo, Ireland to get my Bachelor of Arts Honours at Atlantic Technological University. Thankfully, this program accepted my three years of college as equivalent to the first three years of the Bachelors program and I was able to start in the fourth year class. In this program I was able to focus on my acting skills and non-singing voice work.

Now, I live in Belfast, Northern Ireland and I'm so excited to see what else the future has in store for me."
